A successful strategy is based on informed choices between viable strategic options. Capful utilises strategic options in strategy work to take account of the different external and internal factors affecting the client company and the differing views held by decision-makers. The options are identified, described and assessed against a range of criteria to provide a robust foundation for strategic choices.
Utilising our own algorithm-based Strategy BuilderTM, we work with our clients to build viable and feasible strategic options that are tested using the same set of criteria. The selected option can act as a basis for defining must-win battles (MWBs) – the key challenges to conquer to ensure delivery of the chosen strategy. Tangible actions, projects and performance indicators are specified for the MWBs to drive and monitor strategy implementation and to communicate strategic priorities. In scenario-based strategy work, the viability of the selected option can also be tested using the scenarios as “wind tunnels”.
